February Birthstone is said to keep the wearer clear-headed and quick-witted. English regalia were decorated with this gem during Middle Ages to represent royalty. It is a colored quartz, a beautiful blend of violet and red that can found in every corner of the earth. Historically, the finest of this stone were found in Russia and were featured in much royal European jewelry. Brazil is primary source of this gemstone, the finer material can be found in Zambia. This wonderful gem stone is Amethyst.
